Warm May

The UK's Met Office has declared that May 2022 was the fifth warmest on record, though there was little sign of that in the English Lakes, despite below-average daytime temperatures.

Curiously, the nighttime temperatures were higher than average, possibly helped by the cloud cover.

Whether 2022 turns out to be another hot year, following on from a number of record-breaking years recently, will only become clear as we roll into 2023.

But the temperature has now become a major concern for everyone interested in Climate Change. That and low rainfall, even in a wet country like Britain.
