The World Economic Forum meets every year to discuss issues of concern to the global economy.
The WEF has been criticised for being a club for the super-rich, a discussion group for billionaires and world leaders, with little input from ordinary citizens.
Holding the meetings in an expensive ski resort in Switzerland does little to dispel this impression - a location where many of the wealthy guests fly in using private aircraft.
However, even this group has now acknowledged that the greatest long-term threat to humanity is climate change. This may make little difference to the behaviour of corporations, rich individuals and governments but it does show how climate change now has quite widespread acceptance.
