Easter Optimism

With the Extinction Rebellion protests going on in London and the hangover from the (first phase) of Brexit negotiations weighing down the mood of the UK, it is easy to feel pessimistic.

But Easter has always been a time of hope and it has brought some nice weather - really hot for Britain at this time of year - and there are some positives from all the chaos, so I'm feeling quite hopeful.

We've survived the bruising Westminster arguments and it seems people are actively protesting and putting forward their opinions again. In the early 2000s it felt like it was only older people engaging in the democratic process.

Now we are all into politics, it seems. Let's hope we can work out some way to navigate through it. But for now, I'm looking forward to a pleasant weekend: a few days off work and time to catch up with friends.
