Opening Lines

I'm currently working on a short story.

The BBC has a competition for new writers. This is a Radio 4's Opening Lines where they accept stories up to 2000 words, broadcasting the best three on the radio. The writers also get invited to London to see their work being broadcast.

This competition is only open to entries from January 6th to February 14th so I need to get a move on.

Got a nice one drafted called Border Forest. Might be a little too dark for the Beeb, but hey-ho, you have to write what feels right...
