Let it Rain?

The floods have come to swathes of Southern Britain.

Weeks of rain with little let-up has raised the levels of rivers and added to the storms that have battered the coasts.

And what can we learn from this? As the press blame the Environment Agency or the government, a few voice mention that dreaded phrase Climate Change.

No one can pin a single event to something so big, something so hard to measure, but the frequency of once-in-a-lifetime events should start people thinking. Is it time to acknowledge that things are going to be different in the future? Not necessarily better? That the gloom mongers and post-apocalyptical writers have actually got a better handle on the future than our so-called leaders?

So for now it's floods but next could be drought, then snow.

If you want to see the future, listen to writers and artists, not politicians.
