But that won't be coming from the Government.
Sadly they've decided to stick with their neoliberal assault on lower income groups. Justifying further cuts with their fundamentalist approach to free-market economics they are now poised to make the poorest in society pay for the banking crisis.
Although most people have forgotten about the true cause of the debt the country owes, it was not from excessive spending on education and the NHS. Neither was it due to high public sector pay nor excessive benefits to immigrants. It was caused by a financial bubble that burst. A bubble created by private sector banks, ultimately bailed out by the government.
So when the cuts start to hit, reflect on who is paying the price for the banks' failure. And consider what it says about us as a society if we let it happen.
